The life of Betty Wolf (nee Braverman) was cut short by polio in 1955, just at the time when polio's eradication in the United States was on the horizon thanks to the breakthrough vaccines introduced in that same year. Her passing, at age 39, truncated her career as an artist as well as her family role as wife and mother of three young children. It is altogether appropriate that her art, long stored away and unseen by the public, now play a role in continuing the battle to eliminate polio. The collection of her art is now curated and housed on the California Central Coast and a portion of the proceeds of all sales of Betty Braverman art reproductions will be donated to the amazing worldwide Rotary International's PolioPlus Fund to End Polio Now. Polio long ago became a distant memory in the United States but the effort to defeat polio around the world continues and the job isn't yet complete. You can help bring polio to an end. Preparing the finest quality reproductions of some of the best pieces from the Betty Braverman archive has taken over two years - scanning, color adjustment, test printing, and selection of the best printing methods and materials. The result is a series of seven of the most beautiful pieces that are ready to frame and display that produced with archival inks, paper, and canvas to preserve their beauty for many many years.
These reproductions were made using very high resolution 75-megapixel flat-scan photography and put onto archival museum-quality acid-free heavy art paper (which is produced in the USA) or canvas using a museum-grade 12-color printing technology. This series of reproductions took a great deal of time and attention to detail to prepare but the results were worth the effort - they look wonderful; as close in appearance to the original works as possible.
Reproductions are at or close to their original size and produced in standard paper or canvas sizes for convenience of standard size frames. Some have a border for easy matting and you can see the frame and matte size recommendations. The prints on canvas are on pre-assembled onto a wood 'stretcher' and intended for direct insertion into a frame of the same actual size as shown. Some prints can be 'dry-mounted' for simpler poster-style framing or can be 'float' framed (e.g. #5 and #6).
These reproductions are of the finest possibly quality with museum-grade archival materials and they should make a beautiful and long-lasting addition to your home or business or a special gift of fine art. The preparation and production of these works of art is directly supervised by Daniel Wolf and performed by local artisans and graphic reproduction specialists. None of the work is 'outsourced', done abroad, or 'farmed out'. All reproduction preparation and production is done in the USA. Most are numbered limited editions.

#1 - 'Blond' - Image size 14" x 18" (For 18" x 22" Frame w/ 2" Matte)

This image is reproduced from a stunning original pastel (colored chalk) work that still maintains its fantastic brilliance after 75 years. Photo-scanned at extremely high resolution and then printed using the 12-color archival ink process on archival thick art paper. The image size is 14" x 18" and it's printed with a plain-white 2" border for an overall paper size of 18" x 22". You can easily frame this with a 2"-wide matte into a 18" x 22" frame. 'Blond' is one of the most beautiful of all the works in the Betty Braverman archive and it will draw eyes to any area on which it is displayed.

#2 - African American Man - Image size 18" x 24" (For 22" x 28" Frame w/ 2" Matte border)

This image is reproduced from a wonderful pencil drawing on large format artist paper. Photo-scanned at extremely high resolution and then printed using the 12-color archival ink process on archival thick art paper. The image size is 18" x 24" and it's printed with a plain-white 1.5" border for an overall paper size of 21" x 27". You can easily frame this with a 2"-wide matte into a 22" x 28" frame. 'African American Man' is a sensitively expressive drawing done in 1935 and unusual subject matter for its time - one of the finest pencil drawings in the Betty Braverman archive.

#3 - Woman Wearing a Hat - Full Size 14" x 18" on stretched canvas (For 14" x 18" Frame)

This image is reproduced from an original oil painting on artist board. Archival color print on archival reproduction canvas, stretched onto a wood stretcher that is 14" x 18" also so it's simply ready to frame (no border) like an ordinary oil painting on canvas. This is the first reproduction of an original oil on canvas artist board from the Betty Braverman archive. It's a great painting and faithfully reproduces the appealing look of the subject in a 1930's period hat.

#4 - Art Deco Design Poster #1 - Full Size 18" x 24" (For 18" x 24" Poster Frame)

The poster reproduction is one of the beautiful 'Art Deco' style designs in the Betty Braverman archive. Archival large format poster-print. There's enough border to matte and frame or it can be dry-mounted and displayed in a simple poster frame of the image size (18" x 24" frame). It's a stunning saturated color image that shows the artist's original brush strokes and small imperfections resulting of hand work. The original work, in tempera, is only 3" square and it is reproduced here at about 15", greatly enlarged from a high resolution photograph. It is a faithful realization of the artist's intent to use this image as a poster design, as entitled on the original.

#5 - Fashion Design - Image Size 10" x 10" (For 12" x 12" Frame w/ 1" Matte)

Color print of an original watercolor painting on archival quality heavy art paper. The 1" border allows for matting and framing in 12" x 12" frame. This image is of a fashion design watercolor of a young woman in bright red and green clothing outfit that was fashionable in the 1930s when this the original was produced and would be look great today. The colors of the archival print reproduction are bright and faithful to the original.

#6 - India Ink Graphic Design - Full Size 11" x 14" (For 11" x 14" Frame)

An excellent reproduction of a 1937 original jet black india ink (on paper) design composition Printed on archival paper with the design at actual size. The 11" x 14" format works well in a matte/frame combination with some flexibility on the matte width and proportions, or it can be dry-mounted and framed without a matte in a poster or float frame. It's a very cool design and its size is ideal for a study, entry way, or library.

#7 - New Yorker Cover Watercolor - Full Size 13.25" x 17" (For 16" x 20" Frame)

Saluting The Fourth is an excellent reproduction of a whimsical 1937 original watercolor painting on paper. Printed on archival paper with the design at actual size. The 13.25" x 17" format (includes 1.25 inch border all the way around that is color-matched to the art area) works well in a matte/frame combination with some flexibility on the matte width and proportions, or it can be dry-mounted and framed without a matte in a poster or float frame. It's got a humorous theme and its size is ideal for display in any area.
